Stargazing At The Elqui Domos Hotel In Chile | Designed by RDM Arquitectura | Photos by James Florio

In the heart of the mythical Elqui Valley in Pisco, surrounded by the Andes Mountains, 500km north of Santiago in central Chile, lies a magical place that allows for star-spangled dreams beneath the clear pure sky. Combining stargazing and specialized astronomic tours with night-time horseback riding, meditation and even tarot readings, Elqui Domos is a hotel quite like no other.

It was completed in 2005 to fulfil its owners’ desire to observe and enjoy the grandeur of the one of the world’s most star-filled skies. It is one of only seven astronomic hotels around the world and the only one in the Southern Hemisphere, offering breathtaking views of the magic skies draped over the Elqui Valley (the valley is renowned for its sharp, clear skies, as it happens to sit under one of the clearest atmospheres in the world). The lack of rain and pleasant weather all year round set the perfect conditions for astronomic tourism, where guests can gather to enjoy a unique chance to liaise with the stars.

This is one of the many reasons I love the Timber’s Army and am proud to be a member of section 104 Charlie Company. These photos are of the the Mother’s Day match against the Chivas. The only photo which belongs to me is the one of 107ist brochure.

“The Timbers Army has had a ‘zero-tolerance for intolerance’ policy since its inception in 2001,’” Goldman-Armstrong told MLSsoccer.com. ”Our display in honor of the International Day Against Homophobia demonstrates our commitment to making certain all people are welcome at the beautiful game, on the pitch and off of it. …As the language San Jose’s Alan Gordon used to attack captain Will Johnson shows, homophobia is still a real issue in North American sports. As supporters, we must do our best to show that there is no room for such bigotry in our sport. Sunday’s display is an indication of that sentiment.”

-“Timbers Army tifo makes simple statement about homophobia: “Pride, Not Prejudice”“ by Andy Edwards, mlssoccer.com

None of your bullshit, homophobia. None.

I remember posting somewhere once in a thread about why girls aren’t exploited in animation anymore where some guy said, “all the disney girls are drawn to be generally attractive, but I don’t think there are any eye-candy men… or are there? Are there any Disney men that lots of girls like?” and I mentioned Roger. Tons of girls replied agreeing with me and the original guy was like “wait, Roger? from 101 Dalmatians? What’s attractive about him, he’s tall and lanky and has a big nose, he isn’t muscley at all! Wouldn’t you all prefer Gaston or something? Or do you girls think his big nose is indicative of something else?” and I was like “no, you idiot, he’s a silly, goofy guy who likes animals and can play a bunch of instruments, that’s why he’s attractive. What’s the matter with you? Gaston, seriously?”

This is why we need more girls in animation. And more guys like Roger apparently.

I HAVE THE BIGGEST CRUSH ON ROBERT

SCUZE ME HE IS SUPER ATTRACTIVE

Roger <3  Definitely the best Disney guy out there.  In a way, he’s probably a more idealized interpretation of what girls want in a guy than any of the princes; he’s funny, nerdy, talented, and passionate about his work, whereas all the Disney princes are just generic hot guys with maybe one personality trait— and that’s if you’re lucky because most of them don’t even have that.

And tall, lanky guys are super attractive.

I don’t know about you but the big nose sells it for me.

The Cycle of Abuse Illustrated Through Single Photos and Multiple Models

Statistics show that 70% of people who are abused as children will grow up into adults who will in turn abuse children. A recent awareness ad campaign by Mexican organization Save the Children shared this fact in single photographs that are both creative and difficult to stomach. The advertisements were originally published back in May 2012, and were created by Mexican agency Y&R and photographer Ale Burset.

Each one uses five models showing one individual at different stages of life. In the foreground, the individual is experiencing abuse as a child. Older versions of the abused child grow up as they walk across the background of the frame, and turn into the original abuser by the time they walk a full circle.

“70% of abused children turn into abusive adults. Donate at savethechildren.mx,” the advertisements say.

That episode where you find out that a member of the zany villain squad actually has a heartbreaking past, which includes a bit where he pushes himself to perform a feat that has never been done before and has never been done since, all for the sake of love, only to be rejected as a freak.

All three of them have heartbreaking pasts.

Meowth’s was listed above.

James had abusive (at the very least neglectful, but they didn’t care how he was treated so long as he awarded them prestige) parents who had engaged him to a sociopath, who wanted to whip him and change everything about him to be more “presentable.” He ran away and was on the streets for a long time before he finally joined a crime ring.

Jesse was raised by a single mother, and the two of them were so poor that they rarely had actual food; her mother would make her a “feast” out of snow in the winter that Jesse considered to be a treat because that’s how badly they were starving. If the audio dramas are to be believed, Jesse’s mother was also a member of Team Rocket, who disappeared (read: died) on an expedition searching for Mew, leaving Jesse alone. And then Jesse, like James (and Meowth) was so desperate for a means to survive that she (inadvertently?) followed in her mother’s footsteps and joined Team Rocket/a life of crime just to get by.

“Zany villains” they may be, but Jesse, James, and Meowth are the three deepest characters on the show. I love them.

Grilled corn. a true street delicacy. Ingredients usually include: Mayo, lime juice, cheese and chili powder. Yes, for those who havent tried it, it might sound weird at first, but upon your first bite you will confidently ask for another one.

Literally all that has been on my mind the past few days.
